Angela G. Lepore, of Medford, died peacefully in the company of her loving family on Friday morning. She was 92.
Angela was raised in Medford, the daughter of the late Santo and the late Angelina (Scelso) Giampapa. Angela graduated from Medford High School with the class of 1936 and went on to earn her Bachelor’s Degree at Emmanuel College and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Boston College. In the early part of her life she did social work with various health care organizations in the Boston area. Angela’s life was marked by commitment to her family and involvement in her community. She was a devoted wife and mother who inspired her children and grandchildren. She was involved in various charitable works around Medford, especially the local chapters of the Heart Fund and Cancer Society. She was a strong advocate for quality public education. Active in politics, she was a member of the Medford Women’s Club and Republican Committee. She was a steadfast support for her husband, Attorney Amato V. Lepore throughout his tenure on the Medford School Committee and as a City Councillor and Deputy Mayor.
She leaves her beloved husband of 64 years, Amato V. Lepore. She is also survived by her sons: Dr. Lorenzo Lepore and his wife Nelida and Amato V. Lepore, Jr. and his wife Elizabeth all of Medford. Angela leaves her granddaughters: Angela-grace Blais-Lepore and her husband Patrick of Medford and Victoria Munoz-Lepore of Medford. She is predeceased by her siblings: James and Santo Giampapa, Josephine DeGiacomo and Salvatrice DeFeo.
Family and friends may visit at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St. Medford, Tuesday from 4 thru 8 PM and again on Wednesday morning October 12th at 9 for a procession to St. Raphael Church for the celebration of Angela’s mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery.
