Obituary

Marion V. Tucker, 78, of Ocilla, Georgia died Saturday, October 8, 2011, at her residence.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, October 11, at 11 A.M. at Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Ocilla with the Rev. Dan Johnson and the Rev. William Pope officiating. Patsy Kemp will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow in Frank Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 7 until 9 PM at the funeral home.

Mrs. Tucker was born July 23, 1933 in Tift County to the late John Henry and Inez Kitchens Evans. She was a nurse with Dr. Herman Dismuke and Dr. Billy Sams. She was a homemaker and secretary for her husband’s business, Bear Safety Service. Mrs. Tucker was a member of Ocilla Baptist Church, past president of the Ladies Golf Association, and served on the committee to change the name of the Irwin County athletic teams to the Indians.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, R.B. Tucker of Ocilla; son and daughter-in-law, R.B., Jr. and D’Anna Tucker of Ocilla; daughter, Julie Tucker of Ocilla; grandchildren: Sam Tucker, Nathan Tucker, Aly Parker, Gabi Parker and Miki Parker; brothers: Harold (Jackie) Evans and Rickey Evans and sister, Barbara Partin, all of Stockbridge; and several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers.
