TEWKSBURY - Gertrude T. (Perras) Page, age 88, of Tewksbury and Largo, FL, died Saturday, October 8, 2011, peacefully at home, after a lengthy illness. She was the beloved wife of Albert T. "Al" Page. She was born in Lowell on July 12, 1923. She was the daughter and only child of the late Arthur and Mathilda (Perron) Perras. She was raised in Lowell and moved to Tewksbury in 1954 to raise her family.
She worked as a secretary in Social Services at Tewksbury Hospital for many years prior to her retirement. She also worked for the Veterans Administration in Boston and Fort Devens where she met her beloved husband, "Al", where he was a patient after becoming ill while serving in the Army during World War II in the South Pacific. They married on September 18, 1948. Trudy and Al had a true partnership in life and enjoyed a long and loving marriage of 63 years.
She was a member of St. William's Parish in Tewksbury. She enjoyed ballroom dancing, sewing, gardening, arts and crafts, wintering in Florida with her husband and enjoying the company of family and many friends.
Besides her husband, Al, she is survived by four children and their spouses; Marc Page and his wife Sandra (Tuikka) of Petersham, Gregory Page and his wife Debra (McCarthy) of Chelmsford, Lynda Page of Tewksbury, Andrea Page and her partner Bruce Bilapka of Pelham, N.H.; two grandchildren, Victoria (Page) Baribeau of Sudbury, MA and Derek Page of of Merrimack, N.H.
Her Funeral Mass was celebrated Tuesday, October 11, in St. William Church, Tewksbury. Burial followed at Tewksbury Cemetery. Memorial donations to Oblate Father's Infirmary Fund, 486 Chandler Street, Tewksbury, MA 01876 or St. Vincent DePaul Food Pantry C/O St. William Church, will be appreciated.
