Obituary

Janet Breen Leontie, 59, of Franklin, passed away peacefully on October 4, after a long hard-fought battle with Breast Cancer.
She was born on December 14, 1951, to the late John and Barbara Breen, in Norwood, MA. Janet grew up in Millis where she was an avid athlete, representing Millis High in field hockey, basketball, and softball. After graduating high school in 1970, Janet went on to earn an Associates degree in Management and Applied Science from Newbury College in Chestnut Hill, and then continued with graduate studies at Northeastern University in Boston.
Always wanting to stay close to her close-knit family, Janet moved to Franklin in 1984, residing in the same home on Daniels Street until her passing. Janet worked her whole professional life as a Respiratory Therapist, most recently caring for patients at Metro West Medical Center in Natick. A truly kind and compassionate individual, Janet could usually be found assisting others in need of help. She donated her time assisting elderly members in the community, and volunteered at the local grey hound rescue shelter. Janet enjoyed the simplest things in life. She loved, children, animals, and spending time with her family and friends.
Janet was first diagnosed with Breast Cancer in May of 2007 when she began an epic battle, that escalated after the Cancer metastasized in April 2010. There was never a day when Janet gave up or stopped living life to the fullest.
Janet is survived by two children Kristen and Peter Leontie, of Franklin, as well as sisters Barbara Veilleux and Kathy Peterson of Millis, and brother Dennis Breen and his wife Kelly, of Milford.
