Scott A. Taylor, 47, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Friday, October 7, 2011, at Dorminy Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 P.M., Sunday, October 9, at Crossview Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Parmer and Dr. Mike Ruffin officiating. Steve Taylor will give the eulogy. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 Saturday evening at the funeral home.
Scott was born December 16, 1963 in Fitzgerald to S. Lee and Etta Arthur Taylor of Fitzgerald. He was a 1982 graduate of Fitzgerald High School where he wrestled and played baseball. Scott received his Paramedic training from Valdosta Technical College and South Georgia Medical Center. He was a retired Paramedic for Ben Hill, Tift and Coffee counties. Scott was a member of the Gold Leaf Officials Association, officiating for wrestling, baseball and football. He taught CPR for Ben Hill-Irwin Technical School and was a member of Crossview Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his children, Lynley Grace, Matthew Brent and Hunter Keith all of Tifton; sister, Beth & Charles Smith of Fitzgerald; brothers, Steve & Kathy Taylor of Fitzgerald and Mike & Chrisy Taylor of Ashburn as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Amber Nicole.
