Obituary

Salvatore J. “Sal” Abbadessa, of Lexington died Monday peacefully at age 95 in the Woodbriar of Wilmington.

Born in Somerville, he lived in Lexington for many years and formerly of Medford. He was the son of the late Margherita (Laviosa) and Alessandro Abbadessa. Salvatore was a retired Substitute Teacher with the Lexington School System from 1980-1997. He also worked with American Optical as Purchasing Agent from 1975-1980, Electronic Engineer with Honeywell Information Systems from 1957-1975, Senior Lab Technician with National Research Corporation from 1952-1975 and was a Professional Photographer with Vantine Photo Studios from 1936-1952. Sal was a Radio Technician 1st Class with the U.S. Coast Guard during WW II from 1943-1945. He also was a Life long Amateur Radio Operator license W1QBA and a long time volunteer at Lahey Clinic in Burlington.

Beloved husband of the late Elizabeth (Porcello) Abbadessa. Devoted father of Deanne Pescatore and her husband Paul of Burlington, Corrine Suhm and her husband Richard Hamacher, and Karen Abbadessa all of Orlando, FL. Loving grandfather of Beth Ann, Maura, Brian, Penni, Tamara, Erik and Joline. Also survived by 5 loving great grandchildren. Brother of the late Anthony Abbadessa.

Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Saturday at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner St., Medford,
at 10 AM.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.

Visiting hours Friday 4 - 8.

Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent in Salvatore’s name to the Lahey Clinic, C/O Philanthropy Dept., 41 Mall Rd., Burlington, MA 01805.
