Obituary

Maurice J. Morency, 83, of Manchester died February 27, 2004 at Catholic Medical Center after a long illness.

Born in Manchester on May 14, 1920, he was the son of Joseph and Grace (Dusseault) Morency. He lived in Manchester most of his life.

During World War II he served in the US Army and saw active duty in all major battles during his three years of service.

Mr. Morency retired from American Velcro where he had worked for 17 years. He had also worked at several Manchester area mills.

He enjoyed camping and was a member of Freedom Campers, Friendship Sam and Good Sam. He was also a member of the Catholic War Veterans.

He was predeceased by a daughter, Doris Tucker in 1979.

The family includes his wife of 57 years, Georgette (Biron) Morency of Manchester; one granddaughter and three great grandsons; two sisters, Therese Bouchard and Annette Belliveau both of Manchester; a brother, Leo Morency of Manchester; cousins, nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Tuesday March 2, 2004 in St. Anthony Church, corner of Belmont and Harvard streets, Manchester. Burial followed in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester.
