WEBSTER - Barbara (Woznicki) Zdrok, 76, of Webster, died Sunday, October 2, 2011, in UMass/Memorial Healthcare, Worcester, with her family by her side. Her husband of 55 years, Edward Z. Zdrok, died in 2010.
She leaves a daughter, Lauri A. Joseph and her husband Paul M. Joseph of Dudley; a son, Edward P. Zdrok of Watchung, NJ; a granddaughter, Katie E. Joseph of Dudley; and several nieces and nephews.
She was born in Schenectady, NY, the only daughter of Felix S. and Mary P. (Makarewicz) Woznicki, and lived here most of her life. She graduated from Bartlett High School and from Elizabeth Ollis School of Beauty Culture in Worcester.
Mrs. Zdrok first worked as a hairdresser at Barnard’s in Worcester. She later worked at the American Optical Company in Southbridge, Webster Lens and Clark Prout Insurance Agency. She then was a clerk in the medical billing department of Hubbard Regional Hospital for many years before she retired.
She was a member of Saint Joseph Basilica and the Saint Joseph Polish Women’s Club. She had a special devotion to the Blessed Mother and to praying the rosary. She loved all animals, especially her cats. Being a grandmother was the joy of her life.
The funeral will be held Friday, October 7, from the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Saint Joseph Basilica, 53 Whitcomb Street. Burial will be in Saint Joseph Garden of Peace. Calling hours will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Thursday, October 6, in the funeral home.
