PLAINVILLE—Arlene M. (Fandel) Jones 70, of Plainville, died peacefully, Friday September 30, 2011 at Epoch Senior Health Care of Norton following an illness. She was the wife of Arthur F. Jones.
Born October 8, 1940 in Boston, a daughter of the late Theodore and Helen (Igoe) Fandel, she had been a resident of Plainville for the past 18 years and formerly lived in Norfolk and Braintree.
Mrs. Jones was raised and educated in Braintree, and was a retired office manager for Gerber Electronics, in Norwood.
She treasured time spent with her family especially her grandchildren, gardening, bird watching, and crafts.
In addition to her husband of 48 years, she is survived by a son; Jeffrey M. Jones of Plainville, 4 daughters; Theresa M. Stone and her husband Gary of Franklin, Robin M. Boucher and her husband Dan of Wellesley, Jennifer P. Jones of Stoughton, and Judy A. Garcia and her husband Victor of Glen Cove, NY, a brother Theodore Fandel of Clarksville, Tennessee, and a sister Helen Hapgood of Plymouth. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren, and her nieces & nephews.
She is the mother of the late Douglas Jones who passed away in February.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours Thursday Oct. 6th, from 4-7PM at the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. Franklin, www.franklinfuneral.com. A private funeral service for the family will be held at 7PM.
The interment will be held privately.
