Alice W. O'Connor, age 80
Retired Accounts Receivable Manager
TEWKSBURY: Alice "Mickey" (Wakefield) O'Connor, age 80, a Tewksbury resident, passed away on Friday, September 30, 2011 at home with her daughters at her side.
Born in Burlington, VT on January 11, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Alice (Ennis) Wakefield.
Alice graduated from the University of Vermont in 1952. Following graduation, she taught in the Burlington, VT School System for four years.
She resided in several states before settling in Billerica in 1970.
Prior to her retirement, she was employed as an Accounts Receivable Manager by the Sentry Insurance Company and Granada N.A.
Alice is survived by two daughters, Kimberley O'Connor of Tewksbury and Robin Lee of St. Petersburg, FL; two grandchildren, Ashley and Dustin; one great grandchild, Mekhyl.
Alice was the mother of the late Michael M. O'Connor.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, Oct. 4, from 6-8 p.m., at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Relatives and friends are invited to her Funeral Mass on Wednesday, Oct. 5, at 9 a.m. at St. Theresa's Church, 466 Boston Road, Rte 3A, Billerica. There will be not be a procession from the funeral home. Please meet at church at 8:45 a.m.. Interment will be at Resurrection Park in Burlington, VT on Thursday, Oct. 6, at 12 Noon. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Cancer Center at Lowell General Hospital, 295 Varnum Avenue, Lowell, MA 01854.
