Henrique "Henry" Andrade, 98, of New Bedford, died September 29, 2011 at Brandon Woods of New Bedford after a brief illness. He was the husband of Alda (Sousa) Andrade.
Born in Cape Verde, the son of the late Fortunato and Mariana Andrade, he lived in Cedarville for many years before moving to New Bedford 40 years ago.
Mr. Andrade was an excavation contractor who owned and operated the Cedarville Sand & Gravel Company until his retirement.
Survivors include his wife; five children, Henry Andrade, Jr., Margaret Martinez, Frank Andrade, Michael Andrade, and Millie Barbosa; three sisters, Mary Silva, Jenny Fernandes, and Rose Cardoza; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was the father of the late Kenny Andrade, and brother of the late Frank Andrade, Luis Andrade, John Andrews, Tony Andrade and Sylvester Andrade.
