Aileen “Jewell” Farmer Reasor
83, of Louisville passed away to meet her Lord in the air and being reunited with her loving husband on Wednesday, September 28, 2011.
She was born July 14, 1928 in Inman, Virginia to the late Howard and Laura (Bishop) Farmer, Sr. She was a coal miner’s daughter born in the Appalachian Mountains.
She retired from the Jefferson County School system as a reading tutor and was a member of Shively Baptist Church. She also was a member of Valley Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Reasor, 2 sisters and 3 brothers.
Survivors include daughters, Sharon E. Roberson of Houston, TX and Lennis R.Woods (David) of Louisville; grandchildren, Teresa Slider (Billy), Jeff H. Woods (Kim), and Damien Roberson (Kim); 3 great-grandchildren, Amber, Zachary and Danniele Slider of Houston, TX; and sister, Joyce Butterworth of Hopewell, Virginia.
Funeral services will be 7 p.m. Saturday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Powell Valley Cemetery in Dryden, Virginia.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
