Wayne W. Jones, of Plymouth formerly of Greenfield, MA and Venice, FL; died on September 28th at Jordan Hospital at the age of 91. The beloved husband of Stella (Stahura) of Plymouth and the devoted father of Bruce W. Jones of Northfield, Martha “Muffy” Kashkin Grollier of Orwell, VT; Marcus S. Jones of New York, NY; Nancy A. Rozak of Plymouth and the late Barbara Jones and Susan Jones. He also leaves his 6 cherished grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Born in Sherman, NY to the late Orin and Margaret (Woolette) Jones, Wayne was a CPA for many years for the Roy B. Chapin Co in Greenfield. He served in the U.S Army during WWII receiving the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal With Arrowhead. Wayne graduated from American International College (AIC) in Springfield, where he played basketball. He also enjoyed golf and tennis and was a past member of the Kiwanis Club in Greenfield.
A gathering of remembrance will be held at the Richard Davis Funeral Home 619 State Road ( Rte 3A) Plymouth (Manomet) on Thursday October 6 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Burial in Calvary Cemetery in Greenfield will be private. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to The Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675-8517.
