Helen E. (Carlsen) Walker, 97, widow of the late Harrison T. Walker, passed away Thursday, September 29, 2011, at the Shrewsbury Nursing Home.
Born and raised in Worcester, she was the daughter of Lena (Heppler) and Ingall M. D. Carlsen. Helen was a graduate of Commerce High School and was the former church secretary of Park Avenue Methodist Church and chief accountant for Mutual Electric, both in Worcester. She was a former member of 1st Congregational Church of Shrewsbury, former president of Downing St. School PTA, and was once an active Cub Scout den leader. Helen spent her retirement years in West Yarmouth and at Southgate in Shrewsbury.
She is survived by two sons, Robert H. Walker of Falmouth, formerly of Boylston, and James D. Walker of Charlton; two daughters-in-law: Margaret Johnston and Teresa Walker; seven grandchildren: Maglenes Paige, Kimberly Walker, Misael Vazquez, Wendy Walsh, Bethany Walker, Darlene Walker and Allison Walker; and four great-grandchildren: Olivia and Alyssa Paige and Taylor and Alexis Walsh.

There are no calling hours. A family memorial service will be held at a later date.
