EVELYN C. (GIBBS) MAHONEY, age 69, of Hingham, died on Friday, Feb. 27th at the South Shore Hospital in Weymouth after a long illness. Mrs. Mahoney was born in Quincy and raised in Hyannis. She then lived in Michigan for two years before moving back to Quincy, where she lived until coming to Hingham 47 years ago. Mrs. Mahoney was a cafeteria worker in the Hingham Public Schools for several years.Wife of Leo J. Mahoney, Jr., she leaves 5 children: Michael Mahoney of Goffstown, NH,Kathleen Bogan of Duxbury, Mary Carlucci of Plymouth, Patrick Mahoney and Theresa Kachmar both of Hingham. Sister of Judith McKeon of Quincy, Robert Phillips of Florida and John Phillips of Michigan. Also survived by 6 grandchildren and one great grandchild.The funeral services and interment are to be private. Visiting hours and flowers omitted by request.
