Annie Murphy Wilson, age 87, died Monday, September 26, 2011 in Danville.
Born June 4, 1924 in Pittsylvania County, she was the daughter of late John P. Murphy and Annie Talley Murphy. She was a member of Schoolfield Baptist Church in Danville. She was married to Jesse W. Wilson who predeceased her.
She is survived by her son: Jesse W. Wilson, Jr. of Danville; a daughter: Carolyn Ann Wilson of Danville; one brother John P. Murphy; and one sister: Mary Murphy Johnson of Danville; a grandson: Jesse Wilson III of Lynchburg, VA; 2 great grandsons; and 2 great granddaughters. In addition to her parents and husband, she is predeceased by five brothers: Toby Murphy, Tee Murphy, George Murphy, Robert Murphy, and Albert A. Murphy; two sisters: Helen Martin and Lucille Cassell.
Graveside services officiated by Rev. David Turbyfill will be held Friday September 30, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Highland Burial Park. The family will receive friends at Swicegood Funeral Home Thursday, September 29, 2011 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.
