Mrs. Joan A. (Berube) Tabak, of Taunton, died Saturday, September 24 at her residence following a brief illness. She was married to Frank S. Tabak. She was born 69 years ago in Taunton, the daughter of the late Emile and Lillian (Tremblay) Berube. She was educated in Taunton and received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Bridgewater State College. For many years, Joan worked for the Taunton Female Charitable Association. She also taught preschool. She was a vibrant and active woman who enjoyed attending school to continue learning. She also enjoyed nature, exercising and fashion. Joan was an animal lover, who enjoyed dancing, the mountains and spending time with her family. She was a communicant of the former St. Jacques Church in Taunton.
She leaves: 1 son: Scott M. Tabak and his wife, Susan of Taunton; 1 daughter: Lynda L. Tabak of Dighton; 3 brothers: Robert Berube of Taunton, Richard Berube of Norton and Michael Berube of Bristol, N.H.; 2 sisters: Elayne LaBrecque and her husband, Donald of Taunton, and Ann Bradshaw and her husband, Russell of Taunton; 2 grandchildren: Nicholas and Jessica Tabak, both of Taunton, and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Emile “Zeke” Berube and the late Ronald Berube.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Jude the Apostle Church, 249 Whittenton Street on Thursday, September 29 at 11:00 A.M. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours are respectfully omitted.
