After a prolonged and valiant battle with cancer, Douglas Scott Evans, a resident of Medford, died in the arms of his beloved wife, Debra Ann (Travers) Evans at Methuen Health and Rehabilitation Center on Friday, September 23, 2011. He was 52 years old. Youngest son of the late Phyllis E. (Rideout) Evans, he was born in Medford, MA, on June 19, 1959, and is survived by his parents, Elmer L. and Janet M. Evans of Florida. He will be sorely missed by his devoted wife, Debbie, and 11-year-old son, Douglas Donald Evans of Haverhill. Douglas was an expert die cutter and avid sports fan who also enjoyed fishing. His loved ones will always treasure the memory of his quiet demeanor and great sense of humor. He is also survived by his daughter, Alisa Marie Evans of Chelmsford; his brothers, Donald L. and his wife Antoinette Evans of Medford and Keith A. and his wife Kim Evans of Maryland; his aunts, Shirley, Mary and Linda; as well as many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. A graveside service was held at Oak Grove Cemetery’s Ivy Lawn at 230 Playstead Road, Medford, MA on Tuesday, September 27, 2011, at 1:00 p.m. Many relatives and friends attended.
