Rita A. (O'Neill) Enright, 80, a resident of Methuen, MA, died at her home surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, September 24, 2011.
She was born in Lawrence, Massachusetts on July 8, 1931 to William A. and Mary E. (Creeley) O'Neill. She attended St. Laurence O'Toole Grammar School in Lawrence & a graduate of Lawrence High School Class of 1950. A graduate of Lowell General Hospital School of Nursing Class of 1954. She worked in Nursing at various hospitals through out the greater Lawrence Area, and worked as a school nurse in the Methuen School System for several years.
She was very active and prominent in breeding and showing American Kennel Club Show Dogs, having bred several Scottish Terrier & Chow Chow Champions. She was past president of the Chow Chow Club of New England and served on the club board of directors, and also was an Honorary member of the Chow Chow Club of America.
She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years: Thomas G. Enright, and her four daughters: Kathleen Mary Hammond, Maureen Rita Saba and her husband John, Colleen Marie Enright and Eileen Mary Gill, her eight grand children: Ryan Garrigan, Tory Saba, Tayla Saba, Kayley Pettoruto, Abby Pettoruto, Garrett Hammond, Sarah Hammond, and Meredith Gill. and her sister: Mary McGowan. Also several nieces and nephews and cousins. She is predeceased by her brother James J. O'Neill (Former Alderman of Public Property & Parks for the City of Lawrence). Friends are invited to attend a funeral mass on Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at 10:00AM In St. Monica Church in Methuen, a burial will follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence.
