Jean G. (Griffin) Keir, 88, of Mattapoisett died Tuesday February 24, 2004 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of David W. Keir and the late Winchester Smith.
Born in Waterford, New York, the daughter of the late Louis and Ethel (Batcheler) Griffin, she had lived in Melrose and Antassawamock in Mattapoisett for most of her life.
She attended the Mattapoisett Congregational Church.
Mrs. Keir enjoyed playing golf at Little Harbor Golf Club in Wareham.
Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Gail Gerrish of Boulder, Colorado, Lynn Short of Manchester, and Debra Chiampa of Longmeadow; two stepchildren, John Keir of Marion and Janet McAuliffe of Bloomfield, Connecticut; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
Her Funeral Service was held on Friday February 27, 2004 in the Mattapoisett Congregational Church, followed by burial in Cushing Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Community Nurse & Hospice Care, P.O. Box 831, Fairhaven, MA 02719.
