Anthony (Tony) Marino, 62 yrs. old, died at his home In Malden on Sept. 9 following a year long battle with cancer. Tony was born in Manchester, NH and moved to Lawrence with his family when he was very young. As he was growing up he was known to everyone as “Rocky”. Tony had a love of music since his childhood. His father who he was named after, had a passion for drums and music as well. Many family members on his father’s side of the family played music. Tony was the sibling who inherited the musical talent. In his twenties Tony lived in California and Houston, TX and later moved back to the Boston area which he loved. Tony played guitar beautifully. He also played the accordion. He played different styles of music and when he played his spirit came through his music. He was always challenging himself and enjoyed teaching others to play. His life revolved around music.
Tony also loved to cook and spent some time working at a local restaurant. He enjoyed having cookouts for his friends.
Tony’s dog Rocco, who he had for many years, died a few months ago. Rocco was very loved and his presence kept Tony in good spirits.
Tony was very compassionate and sensitive. Although he seemed rough around the edges he had a heart of gold and was a truly gentle person. He now watches over us.
Tony is survived by his sisters, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephew, aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous friends. He will be missed by all and remembered with love.
A Memorial Service is planned at Kingdom Hall, Malden on October 2nd at 4:00 pm.
