Liduina R. (Almeida) Martins, 87, of New Bedford died February 24, 2004 at St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness.
She was the widow of Umberto S. Martins.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late John R. and Marie P. (Cabral) Almeida, she had lived in New Bedford all of her life.
She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church.
Mrs. Martins enjoyed crocheting and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include 3 sons, Raymond Almeida and Albert Martins, both of New Bedford, and Joseph Martins of Virginia; 2 sisters, Clotilda Almeida and Olivia LeBeau, both of New Bedford; 14 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Lawrence Almeida and sister of the late Dorothea Sylvia, Joseph Almeida and John Almeida.
