Obituary



HAVERHILL: Sarah J. Flower, 47, died peacefully at home on Tuesday, September 20, 2011 after a lengthy illness. She was the loving wife of William E. Landry of Haverhill.
Born in Palo Alto, California on July 31, 1964, she was the daughter of Dean Flower of Haydenville and the late Judith A. (Pickard) Flower. Sarah grew up in Northampton and then resided in the Boston area for many years before moving to Haverhill in 1996. She was a 1982 graduate of Northampton High School. She graduated cum laude from Harvard University in 1988 and earned her J.D. cum laude from Suffolk Law School in 1999 and passed the Massachusetts Bar Exam in November of that year.
She worked as a paralegal for Ruberto, Israel and Weiner Business Law Firm in Boston for several years. She was previously employed for the Gillette Company as a trademark paralegal. Sarah had a love for reading, birding and trips to the Cape. While at the Cape she and her husband, Bill especially enjoyed the winter hikes they would take together. She also loved being with her family and friends. They will all cherish the memories of the times they spent together. Sarah will be greatly missed by all of them.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her father, Dean Flower and his wife, Linda Henchey of Haydenville; two brothers, Benjamin Flower of St. Petersburg, FL and Jonah Flower and his wife, Naomi of Mountain View, CA; two nephews, Ramsay and Miles Flower of St. Petersburg, FL; two nieces, Nora Flower of St. Petersburg, FL and Lisa Landry of Fitchburg; mother-in-law, Lillian Landry of Waltham; brothers-in-law, Joseph De Paolo and his wife, Laurie of Mahopac, NY and David Landry of Waltham; sister-in-law, Nancy Landry of Haverhill; an uncle, Tim Flower and his wife, Linda of Pittsburgh, PA. She was also predeceased by her beloved twin sister, Ann Flower-De Paolo, her maternal grandmother, Helen Thompson and her fraternal grandmother, Margo Flower Fisher.
Her funeral services will be held on Saturday in the Linnehan-Grondin Funeral Home, 129 Kenoza Ave., Haverhill at 11 a.m. Visitation will be held on Friday from 6 – 9 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Sarah’s memory to the Twinless Twins Support Group International Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 980481, Ypsilanti, MI 48198-0481.
