Martha Louise White, 88, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Monday, September 19, 2011, at the Fitzgerald Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, September 23, 2011, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Mike Ruffin officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home.
Mrs. White was born November 25, 1922 in Douglas, Georgia to the late John Wesley and Hattie Thigpen Thompson. She moved to Fitzgerald in 1926 from Douglas. Mrs. White was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, the Rebekah Sunday School Class, Young at Heart and was active at the the Ben Hill Senior Citizen Center.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law: Jimmy & Sue Finch of Columbus, GA; daughter & son-in-law: Beverly F. and Dwight L. Dorminy of Kilgore, TX; 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; sister: Hazel Green of Decatur. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny E. White.
