Stephen M. Niven, age 51
TEWKSBURY: Stephen M. Niven, age 51, a lifelong resident of Tewksbury, passed away on Saturday, September 17, 2011 at the Beverly Hospital, following an apparent heart attack.
Born in Boston on January 3, 1960, he was the son of Maureen P. (Sullivan) Niven who survives him of Tewksbury and the late Neil Niven, Jr.
Stephen attended Tewksbury schools, graduating from Tewksbury Memorial High School in 1978. Following graduation, he attended Salem State College and U. Mass-Lowell.
Stephen had been employed in Retail.
He was an avid reader and also enjoyed the great outdoors, watching the Boston Red Sox, listening to music, discussing current events, politics and local history and was a great lover of animals.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by three brothers, Paul G. Niven and his wife Carolyn of Townsend, Timothy N. Niven and his wife Jeanne of Tyngsboro and Peter D. Niven and Joanne Snow of Westford; five nephews, Matthew Niven of Rochester, NH, Jason Niven of Lowell, Shane and Ryan Niven of Tyngsboro and Max Niven of Townsend; his grandniece, Adrianna Niven; his grandnephew, Colton Niven; also many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Funeral Mass on Saturday, Sept. 24, at 10 a.m., at St. Williams Church 1351 Main St., Rte. 38, Tewksbury. Interment will follow at Tewksbury Cemetery. At the request of the family there are No Calling Hours. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Tewksbury Food Pantry, 999 Whipple Road, Tewksbury, MA 01876 or to the M.S.P.C.A-Nevins Farm, 400 Broadway, Methuen, MA 01884.
