Manchester: Ronald “Rony” A. Vachon, 84, died September 20, 2011 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack after a brief illness.
He was born in Sherbrooke, PQ, Canada on October 4, 1926 the son of Arthur and Renee (Fournier) Vachon and had been a resident of Manchester for most of his life.
Prior to his retirement he had been a painting contractor.
He loved fresh water fishing and making jigsaw puzzles.
He was predeceased by his wife Gertrude A. (Bergeron) Vachon who died March 12, 2002 and one son Daniel Vachon who died on July 9, 2009.
Members of his family include two sons, Phil Vachon, Donald Vachon both of Manchester; one daughter, Susie Vachon of Manchester; one step daughter, Yvonne Breed of Bedford; six grandchildren, Gary Cox, Michelle Vachon, Kevin Vachon, Joshua Gagne, Elizabeth Gagne, Devan Collins; several great-grandchildren; two sisters Marielle Cloutier of Canaan, VT., Rachel Genest of Manchester and several nieces and nephews.
Services: Calling hours will be Thursday from 4 to 7 PM at the J.N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home, 110 Bridge St.. Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:30 AM in the funeral home.
