Kramer, Thomas P. Of Marshfield, September 19, unexpectedly at the age of 73. Beloved husband of Helen I. “Renie” (Howard) Kramer. Loving father of Thomas P. Kramer and his wife Kay of Derwood, MD and John R. Kramer of Marshfield. Grandfather of Pammy Kramer. Dear brother of Jerome Kramer and his wife Gracemarie of Villages, FL., Evelyn Michon and her husband Ted of N. Falmouth, Cathryn Falcone and her husband James of Citrus Heights, CA., and the late Susan Watson and her late husband Bruce. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Tom was born in Cambridge and was raised in Quincy, he lived in Weymouth for two years before moving to Marshfield in 1968. Tom graduated from Thayer Academy in 1955 and recived a BA from Georgetown University in 1957; he then joined the US Navy, Vietnam era, for three years of active service before receiving his LLB degree from Boston University Law School. Tom was a Director and Past President of the Marshfield Historical Society, Past President of the Plymouth District Bar Association, Chairman of the Board for the Ventress Memorial Library, Director for Road to Responsibility, Committee member for ARC of Plymouth Human Rights, Director for Sowing Seeds, Director for Marshfield Chamber of Commerce, Past Director of Myles Standish Credit Union, Member of the Cape and Island Legal Assistance Corp. He was also a member of the Marshfield United Methodist Church, Marshfield. and the Daniel Webster Masonic Lodge.
Tom was the recipient of the Judson Allan Hale Award for mentoring young lawyers, the Lysander Richards Award from the Marshfield Historical Society and was awarded the Marshfield Citizen of the Year in 2007 by the Marshfield Mariner and the Marshfield chamber of Commerce.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Sanctuary 185 Plain St Marshfield, MA. on Saturday October 1, at 11:00 am.
