EAST TAUNTON – Dionisio M. Raposo, husband of Gilda (Pereira) Raposo, died at Morton Hospital & Medical Center on Sept. 17, 2011 after a short illness.
He was 82.
Born in St. Michael, Azores, he was the son of the late Jose and Maria Jose (Augusta) Raposo Tavares.
He was employed as a machine operator for Swank Inc. for many years.
Mr. Raposo was a communicant of Holy Family Church and a resident of East Taunton for the past forty-three years.
Besides his wife of fifty years, he leaves two sons, Dionisio M. Raposo, Jr. and his wife Olga, and Jose M. Raposo and his wife Mashelle all of East Taunton; a daughter, Fatima C. (Raposo) Friel and her husband Richard of East Taunton; a brother, Alberto Raposo of New Bedford; a sister, Dora Pereira of New Bedford; six grandchildren, Sandra, Paula, Joey, and Brittany Raposo, and Ashlynn and Jared McClung, all of East Taunton; and many nieces and nephews.
He was also predeceased by nine brothers and sisters.
His funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Friday Sept. 23rd at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at Holy Family Church at 10 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Thursday Sept. 22nd from 5 to 8 p.m.
