Ward Allen King, 48, of Cordele (formerly of Fitzgerald) died Sunday, September 18, 2011, at Crisp Regional Hospital in Cordele, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, September 22 at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald with the Rev. Dewain Joiner officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
Mr. King was born December 24, 1962 in Fitzgerald to Ward King and the late Joan Spires King. He lived in Fitzgerald most of his life where he attended high school and moved to Cordele four years ago. Mr. King was a welder with Harris Waste Management. He was a member of the Church Of God faith.
He is survived by his wife: Mary M. King of Cordele; children: Matthew Henry, Matthew Cotherman and Bridgett Cotherman all of Fitzgerald; stepchildren: Ashley Wise and Shawn Wise both of Cordele; 6 grandchildren; sister: Brenda Jean Nichols of Fitzgerald; father: Ward King of Fitzgerald.
