Obituary

Dr. James Noel Little of Charlestown, passed away on September 14, 2011 at Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston, with family members at his side.



Born in Kansas City, MO, July 3, 1940, the son of Noel and Isabelle (Smart) Little, he graduated Center High School in Kansas City in 1958. He graduated from University of Kansas in 1962 with a BS degree in chemistry. He received his Ph.D in analytical chemistry from M.I.T. in 1967.



Jim worked for Hercules Powder Company in Wilmington, DE, as a research chemist before joining Waters Associates, then located in Framingham, MA, where he advanced to vice president of sales and marketing. He later became senior vice president of Millipore Corporation after the acquisition of Waters. He left Millipore in 1981 to help form Zymark Corporation in Hopkinton, MA, where he served as senior vice president. He joined Cetek Corporation in Marlborough, MA in 1998, where he served as president. In 2009, while consulting and serving on the boards of directors of various corporations, he founded a new company, i2Chem, in Cambridge, MA which provides state-of-the-art flow chemistry services.



Jim is survived by three children, David Little and his wife Kerri of Westborough, MA, Matthew Little and his wife Kate of Northborough, MA, and Sarah (Little) McDevitt and her husband Paul of Charlotte, NC. A sister Karen Peyton and her husband Roger of Drexel, MO, also survive him as well as his mother, Isabelle Little of Kansas City, MO. He also leaves six grandchildren, Autumn, Jasmine, Skye, Isabelle, and Jack Little of MA, and Connor McDevitt of Charlotte, NC. He is also survived by Barbara Killeen-Little his long-time companion.



Relatives and friends are invited to attend Funeral services on Tuesday September 20, at 11:30 A.M. in the Chapel of the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street, at Natick Common.

Visiting hours are Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M.

Burial will be private
