John A. Aldridge passed away Friday, September 16, 2011 at his residence. Funeral Services will be held Monday, September 19, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home with Bro. Tom Lynch officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, from 1:00-6:00 p.m. at the funeral home and Monday, from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of the service. Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements
John was born February 16, 1928 in Trigg County, Kentucky. He is the son of the late Gordon Aldridge and Rosie Thomas Aldridge. He was a retired school teacher in the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System, having taught from 1949-1991. He was a former city councilman for 32 years from 1968-2000. He was a life-long member of the conservation club. He also served in the Boy Scout Master Troop #525 and was a member of the New Providence Civitian Club.
He is survived by his wife; Barbara Aldridge of Clarksville. One son; David Aldridge (Rebecca) of Clarksville. One step-son, Craig Pardue of Clarksville. Two sisters; Mae Ladd and Effie Adams both of Cadiz, Kentucky. Six grandchildren and Six Great-Grand Children.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Roberts, Steve Frost, Timmy Deem, Billy Wooten, Jamie Darnell and Andy Hollis. Honorary Pallbearers will be all his former students.
In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Aldridge Endowment Education Fund at any F&M Bank.
