PEABODY: Phyllis A. Haley, 89, died Thursday, September 15, 2011 at the Rosewood Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Peabody.
Born in Portland, Maine on May 9, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Elmer C. and Sibyl H. (Smith) Haley. She had resided in Lynn for many years before moving to Concord, New Hampshire in 1983, where she resided for over twenty years.
Phyllis was employed as an accounting clerk for the Boston & Maine Railroad for many years before her retirement in 1984.
She is survived by two sisters, Ruth Casey of Beverly and Helen Brownell of Portland, ME; seven nieces and nephews, Virginia Haley of Pittsfield, NH, Lynne Mooney of Portland, ME, Karen Ray of Falmouth, ME, Michael Casey and David Casey both of Beverly, Lynda Casey of Danvers and Joel Casey of Newburyport and a sister-in-law, Margaret Haley of Portland, ME. She was also predeceased by two brothers, Edward and Carlton Haley and two brothers-in-law, Edward Casey and William Brownell.
Her funeral service will be privately held in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Hollis, Maine at the convenience of the family. Expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to the charity of one’s choice.
