Obituary

Joseph Antonio Tartaglia, Jr., 79, of Greenville, RI, passed away after a brief illness on September 14, 2011 with family by his side. He leaves his beloved wife of 57 years, Marie (Del Sesto) Tartaglia.

Mourning the loss of their loving and greatly cherished husband, father, grandfather brother and uncle are his wife, his children and their spouses, Lorraine and Ken Kuenzel of Sudbury, MA , Steven of Safety Harbor, FL, Joseph III and Nancy of Clearwater, FL, Michael and Holly of Greenville, and Robert and Mary Jo of Wrentham, MA and twelve adored and adoring grandchildren.

The eighth of nine children of the late Joseph and Vincenza (Savastano) Tartaglia, he is survived by his brother, Ralph and sisters Susan Colicci and Hilda Lanfredi. He was brother of the late Frank, Edward, William, Vincent and Gilda Plasse.

Joseph lived a full life, delighting his family with stories of an adventurous and happy childhood, proud service in the Navy, a successful sales career, and love of riding the open road on his Harley Davidson Road King.

Above all, he loved and was proud of the home he created, and the family to which he and his wife so devotedly and completely dedicated their lives. His children and grandchildren are his legacy and he will forever be held in their hearts with love, honor, and gratitude.

Mass of Christian Burial Monday at 9:30am in St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Greenville. Burial in St. Ann’s Cemetery. Visitation Sunday 4-7pm in the ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Please omit flowers.
