TAGEN, BARBARA A. of South Boston, Tragically, August 28, 2011. Beloved wife of the late Thomas S. Tagen. Devoted mother of Jordine F. & Thomas C. Tagen. Loving grandmother of Ava & Kristi. Also survived by many dear & cherished friends.
Family & friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at The Casper Funeral Home, 187 Dorchester Street, SOUTH BOSTON on Saturday afternoon, September 17, from 2-4 PM. It will be a celebration of Barbara's life.
Barbara died in her home on Dorchester Street, South Boston , a victim of violence. She was born in Boston, but was raised and schooled in Framingham Ma. She survived both parents Valerie Clark, and Joseph Goode. She met her late husband while both were working at Howard Johnsons. She also worked as an advocate and social worker at Solutions at Work,Cambridge Mass., aiding the homeless. She loved that job and they loved her. She won several awards from the CMAH including an award for "Going the Extra Mile".
She loved to walk around with her mp3 player and would often have conversations with her aquantences. She was very outgoing and she loved to joke, even at her own expense. She was always very kind-hearted. Although she lived in a one bedroom apartment, Barbara would always let anyone who had no one else and no place to go stay at her place. The gift of her love was the gift of giving to others.
She was loved by many and a friend to all.
