Obituary

Lillian Louise Spicer Willis, 94, of Tifton died Thursday, September 15, 2011, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 18, 2011, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Bill Hamilton and Rev. Smith Gentry will officiate with burial to follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Andy Knight, Wayne Griner, Jerry Spicer, Larry Hobbs, Billy Spicer and Shane Fulford will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons of Wayside Baptist Church and Ricky Kinard. The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 17, 2011, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 18, 2011, prior to the service at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.

Mrs. Willis was born on November 28, 1916 in Mystic (Irwin County) and was the daughters of Alonzie Jackson Spicer and Robbie Palmer Spicer, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Herbert Willis; two sons, James Thurman Willis and Clifford Vachel Willis; one daughter, Marie Tawzer; four brothers; and one sister. She was a homemaker and a member of New River Baptist Church.

Mrs. Willis is survived by one son, William Donald “Donnie” Willis of Tifton; one daughter and son-in-law, Bernice Marjorie and Gary Sullivan of Pahrump, Nevada; one daughter-in-law, Virginia Willis of King George, Virginia; 16 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren.

Flowers will be accepted or memorial gifts may be made to Wayside Missionary Baptist Church, 520 Georgia Highway 125 South, Tifton, GA 31794.
