Obituary

Marie-Claire Tanguay, 79, of Manchester, died September 14, 2011 at Hanover Hill Nursing Home after a lengthy illness.

She was born in Manchester September 16, 1931 to Wilfrid and Lucinda (Maheu) Bedard. She was a lifelong resident of the Pinardville area of Manchester.

She had worked as a housekeeper for the sisters of the Presentation of Mary in Manchester. She had also worked at Happy Hampton Arcade.

Mrs. Tanguay was active with the Catholic War Veterans Auxiliary at the state and local levels. She was a communicant of Parish of the Transfiguration where she was a greeter.

She enjoyed cooking, knitting, crocheting, embroidering and especially spending time with her family.

She was predeceased by her husband, Ernest A. Tanguay Jr., two daughters, Lucille Litalien, Sister Suzette Tanguay. P.M., a grandson, Dominique Tanguay, and a sister, Therese Turgeon.

She leaves two children, Judith Chase of Augusta, ME and E.A. “Buddy” Tanguay III of Manchester; a son in-law, Paul Litalien and his wife, Arquanette, of Manchester; six grandchildren, Paul Litalien Jr. and his wife, Cathy, Christopher Litalien and his wife, Donecia, Albert Chase Jr., Kelly Houde and her husband, Steve, Amy Tanguay and Emily Tanguay; seven great grandchildren, Jocelyn Litalien, Drake Chase, Liam Chase, Tristin Litalien, Zackary Houde, Max Houde and Indiana Chase; many nieces, nephews and cousins.



A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Saturday, September 17, 2011 at Parish of the Transfiguration. Burial followed in St. Augustin Cemetery.
