Obituary

Bertha (Wold) King, 93, formerly of Medway, died, Monday, September 12, 2011 at Wingate at Sudbury Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late of Cecil E. King.

Born in Chicago, IL on October 9, 1917, she was a daughter of the late Lars and Elsa (Ringholm) Wold.

Bertha is survived by her step-daughter Elizabeth Arms of Albuquerque, NM, her step-grandduaghter Meredith Bzdak of High Bridge, NJ, her brother Roy Wold of San Antonio, TX and her sisters, Audrey Besaw of Florida, May Sleep of Braintree and Marie Pappas of Stow and several nieces and nephews.

After graduating from Medway High School in 1935 as class valedictorian, Bertha attended Bryant and Stratton Commercial School in Boston where she received a secretarial degree in 1937. She then worked for many years at the former T.C. Ashley Co. in Boston as Office Manager.

After retirement, Bertha and Cecil lived in Meredith, NH for many years. Bertha was a life-time member of the Appalachian Mountain Club and was active at the Medway Village Church and in the Altrusa Club and the Eastern Star Organization.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service on Friday, September 16 at 11 a.m. in the Ginley-Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St. in Medway. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in West Medway.

Visitation will be held on Friday from 10 - 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701 or to a charity of one’s choice.
