Wayland: George R. Dreher, 67, died unexpectedly on Thursday, August 11, 2011 at the Metrowest Medical Center in Framingham after being stricken earlier in the day.
He was born in Somerville on November 19, 1943 the son of Carolyn D. (Miles) Halloran of Wayland and the late George R. Dreher.
Besides his mother Carolyn D. (Miles) Halloran he is survived by his children Christopher Dreher of NYC, NY; Kimberly A. Robson of Wayland and David Dreher of Clinton. He was the step-father of Beverly Chiasson of Casselberry, FL and Gail Bell of Wilmington. Also survived by his siblings Patricia A. Halloran of Newfane, VT and Edward M. Halloran of Wayland.
George has been a longtime resident of Wayland and previously resided in Bedford, Chelmsford and Wakefield. He was a graduate of Wayland High School with the Class of 1961 where he excelled in football and was Captain his senior years. He received his B.S. in Political Science from Wesleyan University in Connecticut in 1965. He began his career as a banker and was associated with Chandler Leasing and Westinghouse Credit in lease financing. In recent years he has been a landscaper and irrigation specialist in the local area. He enjoyed golf, bridge and was an avid reader.
A Memorial Service celebrating his life will be held on Friday, August 19, 2011 at 11:30 am in the Bryant Memorial Chapel of the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (Off Route 30), Wayland,
