CARPENTER, EVELYN MARY (SHAHEEN), 91, died peacefully on Sunday, July 3, 2011. She was born in Quincy the daughter of the late Annie (Hashem) and Michael Shaheen. Evelyn is survived by her daughters, Rev. Dr. Dianne Carpenter and her husband Gerald Beaudet of Centerville and Cynthia Carpenter-Marr and her husband Robert Marr of Boston. Sister of Marshall Shaheen of Doraville, GA and William Shaheen of Fort Lauderdale, FL. Grandmother of Jean-Phillippe Beaudet and Nicole Marie Anastas and Great-Grandmother of Angelina Naimo. She was the wife of the late Rev. George P. Carpenter who died in 1978. Mrs. Carpenter spent her formative years in Randolph and had been a longtime resident of Wayland and recently of Natick. She received her LLB from Portia Law School in 1941 and went on to become a certified teacher in the Maynard Public Schools for 20 years. Visitations will be held on Sunday, July 10, 2011 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Rd (Off Rte 30), Wayland. A funeral service celebrating her life will be held on Monday, July 11, 2011 at 10:30 am at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 79 Denton Rd, Wellesley. Graveside Services will be held at 2:30 pm at Beechwood Cemetery in Centerville. In lieu of flowers contributions in Evelyn’s memory may be sent to the St. Andrew’s Church children’s music ministry.
