Deacon Claude A. LeBlanc, 69, of New Bedford died Friday June 17, 2011 suddenly at home. He was the husband of Therese R. (Fecteau) LeBlanc.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Joseph Ernest and Loretta (Pontbriand) LeBlanc, he lived in New Bedford for all his life.
Mr. LeBlanc served as a Permanent Deacon for the Diocese of Fall River for the past 24 years, currently assigned to St. Julie Billiart Parish.
He was formerly employed as a sales representative for NStar Gas Company until his retirement.
He was a graduate of St. Anthony High School and New Bedford Textile Institute.
Survivors include his wife; three daughter, Diane James and Margaret LeBlanc, both of Holly Springs, NC, and Julie Tilley of Belgrade, ME; a brother, Atty. J. Louis LeBlanc of New Bedford; four grandchildren, Evan and Alena James, and Chloe and Owen Tilley; three nieces and a nephew.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11 AM at St. Julie Billiart Church. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Monday from 4-8 PM at St. Julie Billiart Church, with a wake service at 7 PM. Arrangements are by the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
