Fannie Pauline Lowe, age 80, of 156 Sherwood Drive, Danville, went home to be with The Lord on Friday, May 13, 2011.
Born September 5, 1930 in Tazewell County, Virginia (Seaboard), she was the daughter of the late Whitt Lowe and Pollie Nipper Lowe. At the age of 16, she came to Danville to work in Dan River Mills. She attended the First Pentecostal Holiness Church, and at the age of 21, she felt the Call of God to work with the Chinese people. She served in the mission field for 39 years in Hong Kong and Mainland China. She attended Holmes Theological College and Danville Memorial School of Nursing, and was instrumental in starting the Burchell Scaroboro Medical Clinic in Hong Kong.
Survivors include one sister, Flossie Howard of Danville, and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister: Frances Carleen Lowe; three brothers: Lacy Forrest Lowe, Sr., Larry Frazier Lowe, and Benjamin Franklin Lowe, Sr.
Funeral services officiated by Rev. Myron Bruce, Dr. Harold Dalton, Bishop Tommy McGhee, and Rev. Shukyi Li from the Hong Kong Pentecostal Holiness Church, will be held on Monday, May 16, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Pentecostal Holiness Church. Interment will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:45 – 1:45 p.m. prior to the service. At other times, they will be at the residence, 156 Sherwood Drive, Danville.
