Paul A. Doyon, 83, of Londonderry, NH died Tuesday, May 3, 2011 in the Catholic Medical Center, Manchester, NH. He was born on February 22, 1928 in Manchester, NH, a son of the late Alfred and Lillian M. (Montreau) Doyon. Mr. Doyon was a resident of Londonderry for the past 33 years, formerly living in Goffstown, NH. He served with the U.S. Navy during WWII. Mr. Doyon began his career in law enforcement with the Manchester Police Dept. Thereafter he joined the NH State Police and moved up through the ranks, retiring as the Colonel. Following his retirement from the state police, Mr. Doyon worked for 14 years in customer relations for the Middle East Air Defense Program at Raytheon. He and his wife retired together and wintered for 17 years in Florida. Mr. Doyon was a communicant of St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Londonderry. He was also an avid fisherman.
He is survived by his wife; Carole C. (Scobie) Doyon of Londonderry, ten children; Diane LaCombe of Dade City, FL, Peter Doyon of Cary, NC, Denis Doyon of Germany, John F. Kelly, Jr. of Weare, NH, Jane Dillon of Concord, NH, Colleen Menard of Sandown, NH, Lisa Urdanoff of Hampton, NH, Paul Kelly of Derry, NH, Linda Guidaboni of Nashua, NH and Tom Doyon of Manchester. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, a brother; Roger Doyon of Fairfax, VA and three nephews.
Visiting hours were held from 4-8pm Thursday, May 5, 2011 in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated 10:30am Friday in St. Marks Catholic Church, corner of Mammoth and South Rd., Londonderry. Burial followed in Holy Cross Cemetery, Londonderry.
