BIRD, Kathleen (Shaughnessy) – Of Needham formerly of Forest Hills, April 5, 2011. She was the beloved wife of the late Alfred J. Bird. Devoted mother of Dr. Alfred J. Bird and his wife Nicole of Quincy and Kathleen M. Bird of Needham. Grandmother of Kevin Luu of Dorchester.
She was a former parishioner at St. Andrew’s Church in Forest Hills and a retired secretary for the Boston School System.
Family and friends will gather in the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 1305 Highland Ave. Needham, on Friday, April 8, at 9 AM and proceed to a Funeral Mass in St. Joseph’s Church, Needham, at 10 AM. Interment will follow in New Calvary Cemetery, Mattapan. Visting hours will be held on Thursday, April 7, from 4-8 PM in the Funeral Home
