George B. Mathieson age 61 of Canton passed away March 7th at the Boston Medical Center after a brief illness. Born and raised in Quincy, he attended Quincy High School and Bath Hyde School in Maine. He went on to attend Babson College and graduated from U-Mass Boston. He previously worked as the Director of Development for Brockton Hospital and was currently working as Director of Development for Volunteers of America, Massachusetts in Jamaica Plain. He previously lived in Quincy and has lived in Canton for the last 28 years where he was a member of the Canton Lions Club, Knights of Columbus Council #2095, an active member and Eucharistic Minister at St. Gerard Majella Church and a member of the Milton Hoosic Club. Beloved husband of Susan J. (Donnelly). Father of John E. & his fiancé Jen Kelly, Kevin G. & Emily J. all of Canton. Brother of the late Alyce Winslow, John “Jay” Mathieson & Joanne Maynor. Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton Wednesday 4-8 pm. Funeral mass at St. Gerard Majella Church 1860 Washington St. Canton Thursday morning at 10.
