Lawrence, MA- Katherine E. (Hassay) Farrington died Thursday, December 23rd at the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston, surrounded by her family.
Born on November 3rd, 1924 in Natincoke, PA, Katherine was the daughter of John and Mary (Maltoris) Hassey of Czechoslovakia. Katherine was educated in Pennsylvania before moving to Lawrence.
For many years, Mrs. Farrington worked at western Electric in North Andover as an assembler.
She was a communicant of St. Patrick’s Church in Lawrence and enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
The widow of the late John E. Farrington, Katherine will be deeply missed by her children, Christine M. Walent and her husband Robert of Bradford, Robert C. Farrington and his wife Lynne M. of Salem, NH and John M. Farrington of Claremont, FL. She is also survived by 3 siblings, Irene Deschak of MD, Christine Pudimott of NJ, and Andrew Hassay of California, as well as 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects from 11-1:30 on Wednesday afternoon, December 29th at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home 233 Lawrence St., Methuen will a Funeral Service to follow at 1:30 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in North Andover.
