Linda Dale Dillon, age 63, of 132 Blue Jay Street, Danville, died Monday, December 20, 2010 at her residence.
Born May 16, 1947 in Danville, she was the daughter of the late William Lee Dillon and Geneva Noonkester Steele. She spent most of her life in Danville where she was employed at Dan River, Inc., but for the past 20 years, she was better known as “Ma Ma” at the Heartline Restaurant. She wanted all of her Heartline Babies and Customers to know that she loved them and enjoyed serving them for the past 20 years. Mrs. Dillon was of the Baptist faith. She was formerly married to Herman G. Hankins, Sr.
Survivors include her daughters: Debra Kaye Parker of Danville, Tammy Sue McGee of Pelham, and Tonya Lynn Cassady of Providence, and Melissa Haynes of Danville; her sons: Herman G. Hankins, Jr. of the residence and Kevin Lynn Hankins of Ringgold; her grandchildren: Crystal Dale Gunlickson, Tamber Hall, Taylor Lynn Cassady, Levi Wayne Jordan, Christopher G. Parker, and Blake Michael McGee; great-grandchildren: Kala Marie Reynolds, Hailey J. Parker, Chris Parker, Jr., Lyric Parker-Cook, Xylic Tye Gunlickson; special friends: Chris Collins, Tammy & Steve Murphy, and Tabbie Hennis; and her loving pet Jessie Lee Dillon. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Joann Barker, and a brother, Wiley Lee Dillon.
A memorial service officiated by Rev. Terry Schultz will be held on Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at the Swicegood Funeral Home Chapel. The family will be at the residence, 132 Blue Jay Street (off Elizabeth Street), Danville, VA.
