SPATARO, Joyce (Murray), of Winthrop, passed away at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, on December 17, 2010. She was 63. She was the beloved wife of Ronald P. Spataro. Born in Winthrop, she was the daughter of Helen M. (Sullivan) Murray and the late Joseph J. Murray. She was the devoted mother of Robyn Mason and her fiancée Michael Welsh of Canton, OH, and stepmother to Ronald Spataro Jr. and his wife Alaina of FLA, Keith Spataro and his wife Jenny of CA, Nicholas Spataro and his wife Dawn, and Adam Spataro, all of FLA. Dear sister of Dennis Murray and his wife Gina and Susanne Connolly and her husband Kevin, all of Winthrop. Adored grandmother of Mia, Juliana, Natalia, Luciano, Briella, and Brayden. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Joyce was an avid reader and a Jeopardy genius that was impossible to beat. She was a valued member of the Chaplaincy Department at Massachusetts General Hospital, which provides pastoral and spiritual support to patients, families, and staff. Joyce found her job fulfilling and rewarding and loved going to work everyday. Joyce found no greater pleasure in life than her family, most importantly her husband Ron, her daughter Robyn, and her beloved dog Jack.
