Phyllis T. (Gardner) McLaughlin of Malden, formerly of Medford and Billerica and beloved wife of the late George F. McLaughlin and Archibald Murray, died at the Woburn Nursing Center on Thursday afternoon, October 28, 2010. She was 92 years old.
Born in Medford, Massachusetts, on June 12, 1918, Phyllis was the beloved daughter of the late Edward M. Gardner and Helen F. (Talbot) Gardner Lincoln. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Medford and a graduate of Medford High School, class of 1936. Mrs. McLaughlin had worked for many years at Raytheon as an assembler and also as a secretary.
She will be sorely missed by her children; Joyce P. and her husband William D. Wise of Merrimac, Bruce A. Murray of Orange, New Hampshire and Marsha J. and her husband Donald Boermeester of Burlington, stepchildren; Robert and his wife Carol McLaughlin of Halifax and Albert McLaughlin of Medford, brother; Ronald M. and his wife Ann Gardner of Dracut, seventeen grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She was also the step-mother of the late George McLaughlin.
Her funeral service was celebrated in the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford, Monday, November 1, 2010, at 10 AM. Many relatives and friends respectfully attend. Visiting hours were held on Sunday, October 31, 2010, from 4 to 8 PM. Interment was in Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica. For additional information, please visit,
