Obituary

Mr. Jack Corneilius Dobson, age 60, of Pinnacle, NC, husband of Thelma Scales Dobson passed away on Friday, October 1, 2010 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born in Surry County on July 24, 1950 to the late Peter Lewis Dobson and Rebecca Matthews.Mr. Dobson worked as a Machine Operator for Vulcan Materials, he served his country in the United States Army and was of the Baptist faith, loved hunting and was a competitive bass fisherman.Mr. Dobson is survived by two sons, Allen Ray Mitchell Jr. (Bessie) of Pinnacle and Paul I. Dobson of Mt. Airy. Five Daughters, Barbara Penn of Mt. Airy, Shante Anderson (David) of Charlotte, NC, Maria Dobson of New Bern, NC, Freda Greene (Greg) of Mt. Airy, and Jackie Dobson of New Bern, NC. One brother, Avery Joe Dobson (Josie) of Chicago, IL. Four sisters, Cora L. Tilley of Creedmoor, NC, Betty D. Bass of Oakland, CA, Jill D. Martin of Dobson, NC, and Rebekah Dobson-Williams of Boonville, NC. Twenty one grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Special mention to his sister-in-law, Lois Tripp (Eddie). And a very special friend Curt Venable (Adeline).Proceeding him in death his siblings Maggie DeTiege, Ernestine Carter, John L., Martin, and Cleveland DobsonFuneral Services will be held on Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at Cox-Needham Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 P.M. Family will receive family and friends one hour prior to the service. Rev. Dean Reynolds and Rev. Lee Wilburn will officiate with interment to follow at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown, NC with full military rights by VFW Post 2019 Mt.
