Ronald P. Padula, 69 of Blackstone and formerly of Franklin died May 14 in his home. He was the husband of the late Janet (Kinnecome) Padula who died in 2009 and the late Elaine (Hirsch) Padula who died in 1978.
Born in Franklin, February 13, 1941, the son of the late Angelo and Pauline (Rufrano) Padula, Mr. Padula was raised in Franklin and had lived in Blackstone for the past 15 years.
Mr. Padula attended Franklin schools.
Mr. Padula had been a custodian at Medway High School for 25 years before retiring.
He had previously worked as a laborer for the JR Padula Construction Company for many years.
Mr. Padula had attended the New England Laborers Training Academy.
Ron loved to fish, country music, all kinds of animals and to farm. He had operated the Shanandoa Farm on Prospect Street Franklin for many years.
He is survived by his son, John J. Padula of Franklin.
He is also survived by his brothers, John and James Padula of Franklin, Charles of Wrentham, Alfred of Brockton and his sisters, Theresa Poles and Margaret Dias of Naples, Florida.
He was the brother of the late Anne, Dominic, Anthony, Raymond, Francis and Joseph Padula.
He is also survived by his godson, James Padula of Franklin and many nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held on Tuesday, May 18 from the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin, 131 Main St. in Franklin at 9:15 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church at 10:00.
Burial will be at a later date at Newell Burial Ground in Attleboro.
Calling hours will be on Monday from 5-8 p.m.
